FAQ Regarding PCR COVID-19 Tests
Do I need an appointment for a PCR Test?
No. Simply register for a test using the button below. After you are registered, come to Capitol Heights anytime during normal pharmacy business hours (9a.m.-7p.m. M-F, 10a.m.-3p.m. Sat, closed Sun). We will administer the test and then send it out to the laboratory for processing.
I'm symptomatic. Should I still come into the store?
No. Call us at 303-388-3679 and hit option 1 for the pharmacy once you have registered for a test and are in the parking lot. We will bring the testing supplies to your car. While we have you on the phone, feel free to ask us to gather any items you may need in the store, and we can take your credit card and bring the items out to your car.
When will I receive results?
Results will be received the next day, with the exception that if you test on Saturday, you will not receive results until Monday. If demand increases, this timeframe may change, but currently next day results can be expected.
How will I receive results?
Results are sent via email and/or text. You indicate your preference during registration.
Do I need to arrive at the pharmacy by a particular time to ensure my test is sent on the day I test?
Although we are open until 7p.m. on weekdays in the pharmacy, UPS usually picks up the tests for the day by around 4:30 or 5p.m. So if you test after UPS has already picked up for the day, you may miss the next day results window. If you are cutting it close on timing, you may want to call us and check whether our driver has picked up yet for the day.
Are the PCR tests really free?
For anyone with insurance, the tests are free through insurance. If you do not have insurance, the tests are $125 each.
Why would I want to do a PCR test rather than a rapid antigen test?
PCR tests are more accurate than antigen tests. So if you want to be more certain of a result, you might want to choose a PCR test. Certain travel destinations require a PCR test prior to entry as well. You can bill your insurance for PCR tests, which is not always the case for antigen tests.
The pharmacy is closed, and I have urgent questions about my test. Who should I contact?
We do not process the tests at Capitol Heights. The company that processes the tests is called Bridge Diagnostics. Their customer service phone number is 1-800-803-1611.
